Barlings Beach 2008

BARLINGS BEACH

NSW SOUTH COAST

Barlings Beach Holiday Park ,

Rosedale is situated on 22acres of spectacular beach frontage.

It is between the towns of Batemans Bay and Moruya.

The holiday park is easy to get to and the beach is clean, safe and fishing in the area is very popular.

The little village of Tomakin is close by with a General Store with great coffee, homemade pies and much more.

Barlings Beach is a long strip of sand that attracts swimmers and anglers and is easily accessible from George Bass Drive with the Tomakin River not far this serene waterway lures boaties, anglers and kayakers.  In this area are several boat ramps.

A little bit of history on this area a fellow James Sebbens was born in Essex in 1814 and was transported to serve his time at Broulee after receiving his certificate of freedom he married Celia Ann Barling in 1851.

Celia’s father, Richard Henry Barling was a free overseer, formalized his conditional purchase of land in 1852 and this is now the site of Barlings Beach Holiday Park.

Tomakin named after a local fisherman, Thomas Akin and where the Tomakin Caravan Park now stands there was just a shack, occupied by a very self sufficient gentleman, Tom Barling.
